Description of Parent Jobs

 

TEAM POSITIONS

Can be filled by Varsity or JV Parent(s)

Apparel Coordinator

  • Decides on apparel to offer to players/parents and coaches.
  • Designs and distributes order forms.
  • Collects money and orders.
  • Makes all arrangements with vendors.
  • Distributes apparel when received.

 

Sports Booster Rep

  • Liaison between Men’s Water Polo and Campo Sports Boosters.
  • Attend Boosters meetings.
  • Help plan and recruit helpers for Booster fundraising event.

 

Socials

  • Coordinate and publicize joint boy/girl water polo team dinners. The boys host the Las Lomas and Acalanes pre-meet pasta feeds in ’05.

 

Snack Bar

  • Coordinate snack bar for North Coast and possibly other events held at Campo’s Soda Aquatic Center.

 

Treasurer

  • Collects funds for spirit fees, Villa Park, apparel, and Awards Banquet.
  • Reports status of team accounts.
  • Determines $ needs and suggests appropriate fees and/or fundraising activities.

 

Web Coordinator

  • Develop and maintain a water polo website with current information and possibly game results and stats?

 

North Coast Coordinator

  • Recruit workers and organize desk at the Soda for North Coast Section tournament.

 

JV & VARSITY

JV & Varsity each need to fill these positions.

Desk Coordinator

  • Overseas the desk at all home meets.
  • Trains new desk workers.
  • Supervises desk staffing.

 

Statisticians (2-3)

  • Record Stats during game.
  • Keeps cumulative stats and box scores for the year.
  • Fax/phone team results to the Contra Costa Times/Sun.

 

Transportation Coordinator

 

  • Makes sure we have enough drivers for away games and tournaments (we’ll have sign-ups at parent meeting)
  • Maintains forms required of all drivers
  • Provides maps &/or directions to drivers
  • Provides reminders as appropriate (email list for upcoming events)

 

Collages

  • Assemble photos into a collage for each player.  To be distributed at the Awards Banquet.
  • Recruit people to take candid/action shots, and accumulate photos.

 

Videographer

(optional)

  • Take video of games for review by coaches and athletes.

 

Team Parent

 

  • Coordinate support for the team as requested by Team Captains and/or coach.
  • Prepare or facilitate sign-ups for volunteers.
  • Communications.
  • Maintain roster and schedule.
  • Recruit team parents for all JV & Varsity positions, and provide support when needed.

 

VARSITY ONLY

Positions typically filled by Varsity parents.

Coach Liaison

  • Communicates coach policies.
  • Provides intermediary between coach and parents.
  • Tries to promote ways to generate team support for coach.

 

Awards Banquet

  • Coordinates with the Girls Team rep to organize and plan.
  • Reserve facility and caterer.
  • Organize volunteers to set-up, check in and take-down.
  • Prepare name tags.

 

Recognition and Gifts

  • Order Senior and Coaches gift.
  • Arrange for flowers/gifts for parent recognitions.
  • Organize team captains/seniors for parent recognitions.

 

Awards Booklet

  • Prepare booklet to be distributed at Awards Banquet.
  • Obtain information from statistician and others for inclusion in Awards Booklet.
  • Design cover.
  • Collect Senior Interviews, if applicable.

 

Team Parent 

Additional Varsity Duties

  • Prepare packet for initial Parent Meeting.
  • Oversee scheduling and referee requests.
  • Coordinate with the coach and Andrew Morris for ordering all needed replacement equipment.
  • Oversee Team and Varsity Only Positions and provide support where needed.
  • Perform any necessary functions not specifically listed.

 

 

Note:  All functions and tasks are to be coordinated with the head coach &/or team parent(s) and must follow rules and guidelines established by the school administration (Bob Wilson and Carol Kitchens) and DFAL Rules.
